SpeechExec4Mac aims to provide a complete workflow from dictation to transcription. It’s touted as the only professional dictation application that supports the DSS Pro file format from all IVA (International Voice Association) vendors in Mac-abundant environments.
Designed with an open architecture, SpeechExec4Mac allows users to choose their indivdual workflow settings without fear of any cross-platform incompatibility issues.
SpeechExec4Mac integrates seamlessly into mixed environments with Windows-based SpeechExec applications, according to its makers.
Automatic file locking and file routing post-transcription allows users to avoid transcribing dictations twice inadvertently.
SpeechExec4Mac supports the Philips foot controls 2310, 2320, 2330 and the Philips hand control 2305. The developers claim to have “successfully tested” the transcription solution with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
Philips Speech Processing recommends that the latest update available is applied before installing SpeechExec4Mac for all other listed operating systems.
Thomas Brauner, managing director, Philips Speech Processing, explains that “Many companies today follow a Bring Your Own Device policy where end-users decide for themselves which device they use for their daily work. In many cases this will be a MacBook.”
